Canada Housing Could Look Very Different in 2027

Looking ahead to 2027, Canada’s housing landscape is set for some interesting shifts. According to CMHC, as our economy and household incomes gradually pick up, housing conditions should also improve. While home sales are expected to recover, activity may still fall short of the robust levels from the past decade. The Canadian Real Estate Association is forecasting only modest price growth nationally—pointing towards a period of stabilization, not another surge. For buyers, increased inventory in certain areas and softer demand could mean more room to negotiate. Drawing from my background in both residential and commercial real estate, I see these trends as a chance for well-informed decision-making. My analytical approach has always focused on equipping clients with the information they need, especially as the market finds its new balance.
